Little Delta made an amazing connection at 19 months. She saw a butterfly flitting about from flower to flower outside our house and pointed at it. I explained it was drinking nectar from the flower. Then she said "Butterfly. Milk." Then pointed at me with a huge smile, making the connection that the butterfly drank from the flower like she drank from me. She went on to say "Elmo. Cow.", expanding the analogy to the Sesame Street game where Elmo drinks cow's milk when you press the letter M.
And speaking of milk, she now will finish nursing and say "keam keam" (creamy) and "seet" (sweet). :) Her other favorite words are "Sa-sa" (Samantha) and the ever-popular "Dado".
I hear my little butterfly waking up so I'll sign off.
