Kiwanja remarked the other day, "Hey, Delta's being a protease!" Puzzled, I asked her to explain. She continued, "Look, she's pulling apart the Lego pieces." Ahhh. We had been learning how proteases break down proteins into their component amino acids and ribosomes build them up into new proteins again. She then joined in the fun and said, "Now I'm being a ribosome!", putting the pieces together that Delta had pulled apart.
I think we need to up the level of learning we expect from her - she seems to really internalize advanced concepts very easily. It's the simpler things like going to sleep that pose a bigger challenge...
