Transhuman Transition

Here's a poem I wrote inspired by thinking about life and separation and transitions:

Conquer death the ghastly
Live forever free
Rage and rage and rage again
No dying light for me

My younger self is dead already
Babe in Mama's arms
I wrench and twist and grow and change
But part of me lives on

How will we look back on those
Who choose to die too soon?
Left behind as dust
As we lumber on alone

Anguish, loss, and deep regret
We could not make them see
The life that was awaiting them
The future yet to be

Here we are - we made it!
Shattered lock and chain
Our gleaming path to ecstasy
Is tinged with deepest pain
