Whew! A whirlwind of a day yesterday. Packing for our holiday trip (leaving today!), answering questions from reporters, and a photo shoot for Kiwanja with all 84 pairs of shoes collected so far for the shoe drive!!
What an incredible learning experience for all of us - adding value to so many causes at the same time. And learning how to leverage and communicate with the media - an essential life skill not taught at any school I know of.
After all the excitement our nerves were all shot so we went out for dinner together. Today we fly to visit family and friends up in Canada and collect even more shoes before sending them off to Africa with my parents. Our goal is 100 pairs. And maybe a follow-up article!
